KIU basketball coach, Julius Lutwama has vowed that he will do anything possible to ensure that KIU Rangers get results that are equivalent to the team's aspirations for the season. Coach Lutwama is currently working closely with Joseph Chuma in making KIU Rangers a better team capable of achieving all the goals set for this season. In his brief to the media, Lutwama disclosed that KIU Rangers main focus is on the championship and winning every game there is to play. "Every team works hard to change the championship title and our preparation is underway thru out the season. The UCU game could be so early for our target this season. So, we have prepared for it just like any other game because it is a process," he said. He has been working with the Rangers at least for the last ten days and was asked if there is anything special, he has discovered in the Rangers team. "Every team sport has a special thing inclusive of this one but above all building a spirit to together is very key. That’s what is here," he answered. Lutwama disclosed that his main goal is to get to ensure that KIU Rangers reaps from all the effort that is put in. "Whatever I need to do to get the results worth our sweat, we shall do not only this UCU game but all games." One player that the Rangers have really missed in the last four games is Perus Nyamwenge who has been treating an injury sustained on national duty at the beginning of the year. The good news is that she has been treating with the team and could be available for Friday's game against UCU lady Canons. Lutwama was asked, how important the return of Perus Nyamwenge is for KIU Rangers especially at a time when the team is going into a game with a defending Champion. "Players that have been out injured are a double-sided sword, you can't know the side that will be effective, meaning she can come out so outstanding or otherwise because of the fear that she has been out too long," he explained. He also expressed his admiration and respect for the UCU lady Canons who have been impressive so far this season despite losing some of the key players that helped them win the championship last season. "UCU are the best ladies club from recent results and have the best coach," he said. Apart from a potential return of Perus Nyamwenge, Lutwama reported that, "Most of our injuries are pending clearance from our medical team at the last practice so I can't explain more to that matter."
